Power Friday – Week 3


In preparation for my first powerlifting meet, I give you Power Friday!

Last week I eluded to training in a different setting. Last Wednesday we flew out of here to Las Vegas. Needless to say, my session on Wednesday was shot, no matter how hard I tried to make time to get it in.

On Friday I got up nice and early, and headed to the fitness facility. The Luxor actually has a squat rack, and more than enough free weights for me to do my thang. You can read about my wardrobe malfunction here. It happened on my fourth set of squats.

The night before, the zipper on my jeans broke. I was down to one pair of pants to get me home. I couldn’t chance heading back to the gym. Instead, I made sure that we did even more walking.

This week has been better, even though we are still recovering from the trip (we ended up driving home after being bumped from an overbooked flight). Because of missing two full workouts last week, I am pretty much now where should have been at the end of last week.

In competition, I will have to wear a powerlifting (wrestling) singlet. Before we took off to “Lost Wages”, I ordered a plain one from Monster Muscle. It was delivered on Tuesday, so I’m a happy camper.
